OK, let me start by saying that this was my first time I'd ordered from here. I was a little skeptical since the reviews were definitely mixed, but I figure that "eh, I'll try it once, and see what happens". I ordered the chicken pad thai. Can you please tell me why the noodles were umm..RED?I was so sad because they were RED, and had no flavor. I had my heart set on noodles, with crispy peanuts (which were soggy), and bean spouts (maybe 5 at most). The chicken was flavorless. Now for the pineapple house special fried rice. It was delish until...I found bones in several pieces of the boneless chicken. I think I'm traumatized

Amazing! I have lived in Rio Rancho for 15 years and I have never ever eaten here until tonight. I can't believe I waited so long. The food was incredible! The atmosphere was great! The service was friendly and quick. This is without a doubt a hidden gem in Rio Rancho! I will be dining here regularly from now on!

I feel like weeping right now. I hope y'all are kidding with your 5 stars. What the heck! I really want to swear. I got pick-up. It was insanely hard to find in the dark. Womp womp.. It was empty on a Friday evening when I arrived. Hmm... Wrong wontons for appetizer? Huge de-star. It was disgusting, cold and def NOT the cream cheese (sorta crazy when even done right) ones my friend ordered. These were a gross lump of weird brown meat stuff. I mean they were awful. No one ate them. The tom kha soup? It made me want to cry. I'm feeling under the weather and wanted some spicy tom kha to make me feel better, like my comforting aunt was making it. THIS weird concoction was full of disgusting frozen then reheated processed "chicken" flaps and it basically was MSG gravy. Like, it was gelatinous and nothing was natural about it and it STUCK TO THE SIDES OF THE CONTAINER. It was VILE. There was NOTHING resembling any sort of traditional Thai cuisine at all. There was NOTHING even remotely REAL about anything that came from this cesspool. This was worse than getting defrostable pig sh*t at Walmart and microwaving it. This was seriously offensive. The pad thai was RED. Fake fake fake fake. The chow mein made me vomit. If this is Asian fusion here I'm never eating Asian in ABQ.

I have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and decided tonight might be a good night to give it a try. My wife and I called in our order for carry out. We ordered the Pho with beef and the Pad Thai with chicken. Both were okay but nothing to brag about. The service was good and the meal was ready quickly. For the price it certainly was worth the try and I would be willing to tryout again.

first time, last time.. 3 of us went because of the reviews and the food was awful. rice was cold and whatever the chicken was, had a weird taste.. waitress was rude and impatient when we were trying to figure out the menu.. we all had different things and all felt the same way.. we threw the leftovers away.. I still have a weird taste in my mouth from the sauce that was on the chicken..

Food was slightly warm. Average customer service. A little too cool inside restaurant. Decent prices. We would prefer to travel into Albuq. to buy a decent Asian lunch/dinner.

Excellent service and decent prices. I love their vegetable fried rice and sweet/sour chicken and the egg drop soup with tofu/veggies warms me right up!

Good chow here. Even my kids like it. The chicken won tons is very good. We alwys get the steamed chicken and veggies, as we are on a health kick. Overall its good. HERE's the trick....they always have coupons available on coupon.com , in the mailings to the house etc...all you have to do is show them the online coupon the smart phone and they will honor it.

This place has a little bit of everything. Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.. The Combo Fried rice was good and the spring rolls were fine too. Nothing spectacular, but still good, and I will return for carryout agin in the future!

Very nice setting. Separate bar from eating area. Service was very friendly, and the mood was very calm and casual. Will be back for Vietnamese Pho and fresh spring rolls again.

The best Asian food in Rio Rancho. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you like it hot and spicy ask and they can accommodate you. This is Thai Asian fusion you won't be disappointed. If you like curry, you'll be back for more.

The food was bland as hell. super let down, and the people who are reviewing this place, must not know how "real" thai or vietnamese food taste. I almost want to go back and pray for a better outcome, but I am almost sure it will be the same...a big let down.

Stopped by for some late-night Pho, and very glad I did. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very attentive and pleasant. The pho hit the spot - was just as good as those little hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese places in L.A. It came with all the trimmings, sauces, fresh basil and noodles. Plus, the portion was huge. I'll get two meals out of this easily. Will come back again.

My bf and I live nearby this Banana Leaf in Rio Rancho and have recently moved here from San Diego. We have been fiening for some good chinese food and this place overall met our fix. I was happy with the portion and price of the wonton soup which was delicious. Despite the easily identifiable taste of imitation crab, I still enjoyed the crab rangoons as well. Definitely ordered more food than needed because the portions were generous and filling. So far, I will be coming here until I find somewhere better for good chinese food.

I spent about 4 months working in Rio Rancho in 2008. This was the restaurant of choice, at least 2 or three nights a week. My biz assoc. and I walked there from our hotel. Outside isn't much but inside, yummy. The best little spicy sauce that they make from hand peeled Thai peppers. I miss that stuff sooooo much. Order some if you like it hot!

I'm not really a Thai fan, but this place has amazingly delicious food! Every time I go, I am not disappointed.

I've been to the Banana Leaf three times. Every time was great. The wait staff don't speak the best English, but the service is always prompt. I would definitely have to say, without a doubt, the best Mongolian beef lo mein in Albuquerque. Try it out. You will not be disappointed.

We visited this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. We were in town for the annual Balloon Festival and love both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine with Vietnamese being our favorite. I knew this place was going to disappoint shortly after arriving. First, we showed up about 30 minutes after they opened on a Saturday and we were the only customers in the place. As a party of four, the hostess was going to seat us at a 4-top and we wanted to spread out and have our laptop out to check email so we asked for the larger table next to ours. After saying that these tables were reserved for larger parities, I guess it dawned on her that we were the only customers and she gave us the 6-top. After she brought our water, I immediately asked if the cook was Vietnamese and how authentic were the Vietnamese dishes. She admitted that they don't serve much Vietnamese food and that this was basically a Chinese restaurant. Wow. And they prominently list Viet food on their large sign. So I went to plan B and looked over the Thai offerings. She said that the Tom Yum was popular so we both ordered it - mine with Shrimp and my wife's with Chicken. The soup came and it was a large portion and it was passable. It seemed too thick and after a while, both my wife and I got the impression that they had used Durkee Onion Straws in the soup. Obviously this isn't what we were hoping for. I gave two stars: 1-star because I didn't get sick afterward and 1-star because the lady was honest. Would I ever go there again? Not a chance. As I've said in my previous reviews, we've grown tired and jaded about Chinese food as most of it is total crap. Maybe this place has "Good Chinese" but we'll never know because even good "Good Chinese" pales to good Vietnamese and good Thai.

A complete dump from the outside but WOW try the SIZZILING UDON, it is the best dish in town.....GF thought that the sizziling rice soup was tasty... damn we stayed away for 18 months just cuz it looked like doo doo, get here now!

Best spot for pan-Asian in Rio Rancho, probably in the top five for the Albuquerque area. The menu is Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean. The portions are huge - the woman and I usually split an entree or giant bowl of soup or pho and an appetizer. They have a decent selection of Asian beers, sake, wine, and domestics. They take more care in the preparation of their meat than any other Asian place in the area - in more than twenty times eating there, we've never had a piece of under/over cooked or gristly meat. The meat is actually cooked with the rest of the ingredients of the dish, unlike most place that have the perpetually warmed vat-o-meat with the generic sauce poured over it just before serving. The "crispy cool salad rolls" are great. These are actually what most restaurants call spring rolls, and are made when you order them. They're perfect with every meal. The service has always been friendly and prompt.

This is a restaurant that has been in our community for years now. We have never eaten there this the beginning of this year. Wow! What a suprise. The food was very tasty and different from other Chinese restaurants. So far we have been pleased every time we have gone. We do try to go often. The "War Wonton Soup".... To die for. Their vegetables are always cooked perfect. Everything always seems fresh. The restaurant is clean and nice. The service is always great. The sweet young lady has always remembered us since our very first visit.

Well, if for some reason you are stuck outside Albuquerque New Mexico in Rio Rancho (near the Intel plant) and you have an asian food jones working you over, go to this place. Why? Because there ain't many choices for asian food out this way buddy, but this place has you covered! Take your pick: Vietnamese, Chinese, or Thai, they can make something for you. I chose Pho Tai with some Thai imperial roles, and it passed the test, given there is little to compare it to way out here. It is pretty clean and the food is decent, really! Prices are real good. Good luck finding it! Actually, isn't far from Allied Ready Mix and Exterm-All pest control. With those close by, they save on the corn starch but frog legs are hard to find!

I have been on the search for some really amazing Chinese food in Albuquerque and had heard a lot of good things about this place. So I was really hoping this would be the diamond in the rough, but I was disappointed yet again. The restaurant itself is really nice for a Chinese restaurant and the staff were friendly and helpful. My biggest problem was the food. I always test a Chinese restaurant by their sesame chicken. It was slightly overcooked making it a little tough but at the same time just barely warm. The sauce/glaze was good but the temperature kinda killed the flavor. The fried rice was pretty decent. It wasn't bad and I'm sure they probably have some good dishes. I just wasn't as excited when I left as I was when I went in.

We went in very hopeful based on reading reviews. Unfortunately it was awful! The crab Rangoon appetizer tasted fishy & fried in old oil. Disgusting. The wu wonton soup was plain and had no flavor. Seemed like they threw a bunch of veggies, frozen potstickers, & some meat into a bowl of hot water (zero flavor!) and call it soup. We're used to Vietnamese or Thai flavor .... None to be found here! Don't waste your money!

3 stars because bf loved it. I hated it. It was not disgusting or anything. ... just bland. I didn't want to drive across town to viet Q so came here instead. .... shoulda made the trip. ..boo hoo.

Great service and the atmosphere was nice but the food was interesting. We ordered the vegetable egg rolls first and they were more like spring rolls. The sweet and sour sauce was thick and tasted like it was from a bottle ( a very ketchup taste). I ordered the Pad Thai to be not spicy and it had a sweet tomato flavor- interesting and not good. My Boyfriend got the drunken chicken and it was slightly sweet and very bland. It was supposed to have a garlic taste but didn't. We probably won't be back.

Pretty average definitely not someplace I would go out of my way to eat. The service was good, the food tasted about as good as a frozen dinner. Thai yellow curry ordered hot, it was bland and the chicken was rubber. The pho tasted like it was made with canned broth and had very few noodles in it.

Highly deceptive from the outside, but such a great find. Such a fusion of different asian foods. I've been here several times and order multiple dishes and have yet to be let down. The owner is Tawainese so the next time I'm there I'm definetly going to try the Mapo Tofu. We orderd the sizzling udon w/Egg and Beef. I have ordered the sizzling rice soup, and a shrimp dish. The flavors are defintely savory and delicious. I love anything thats sizzling :) because it comes out hot, crispy, and ready to eat! This will be a place I will come time and time again.

I can't believe I've driven by this place a million times and never stopped! I'd always thought that this was another little hole in the wall place - likely decent food but not really too different. Since I kind of already have staples in the Rio Rancho area and this place never crossed my mind as somewhere to go. One night while trying to decide where to go for dinner this came up and I thought, why not? I'm so glad I did. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly, the service was good, the menu was a good size and food came out quickly, hot and yummy - cooked exactly the way we wanted. I'm so excited to have finally tried Banana Leaf, it's like I found a new restaurant!

Good fried rice, but the Tom ka and pad Thai were weird. The flavor profiles were off. I'm not sure I'd go back.

As mentioned by someone else, do not let the outside appearance fool you. It is very nice inside and they have a great selection to choose from. I had the beef and tomato dish, very simple and very good. Please go in to check them out. I want this place to stick around

Definitely one of the best Asian Fusion restaurants in Albuquerque! What a rare find in NM. I love the fact that it is a family-owned restaurant and that it is a casual unpretentious place to get good food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes--Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese food. I've had several dishes here, but my favorites are the Pad Thai (super flavorful), Chicken Teriyaki (loved the yummy glaze on the chicken), and the Ma Po Tofu. The tofu dish goes super well with rice! I could eat tofu, the sauce, and the rice for days! YUM! Portions are on the larger size so I always have leftovers and have it for lunch the next day. Staff is always friendly and attentive to customers! Amazing food and great dining experience! Will be back when I'm in the area again.

I'm quite aware with what good Asian food is from visiting Asia and living in LA and this place, for being in New Mexico, is pretty good! Their service was really great, the servers were very nice and happy, and the food was tasty, too. I ordered the shrimp phô with steamed veggies (in the phô). The soup was hot, the noodles tasted fresh, the veggies weren't soggy, and they actually put a bunch of shrimp in the soup! Overall, it's a super cute little restaurant, and I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates a decent bowl of phô.

Always have amazing customer service! Their warrior wanton soup is amazing especially with the little crispy chips in them!
